Alzheimer’s and Dementia Support Group: Transylvania County Alzheimer’s Support Group meets on the fourth Thursdays from Janu-ary through October from 5 to 7 p.m. at CarePartners Adult Day Ser-vices, located at 23 Medical Park Drive in Brevard. The public is invit-ed to meetings. No prior registration is necessary.

Caregiver Support Group at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church meetings held the first and third Mondays of each month from 10 a.m. to noon located at the corner of Elm Bend Road and Burt Lane Road. Mission Children’s Hospital & Family Support Network of WNC. A parent-to-parent program serving care-givers of children with special health care needs and developmental concerns. SAFE Men’s DVIP (Domestic Violence Intervention Program) meets every Thursday from 5-6:30 p.m. at SAFE’s office, 515 N. Broad Street, Suite 1, in Brevard. The group meeting is for men who are abusive towards their partner. Smart Recovery Support Group: Every Tuesday of every week, 6-7:30 p.m. Meetings held in the Unitarian Universalist building located across from the Cardinal Drive-In, 24 Varsity St. in Brevard. Smart Recovery is a science-based addiction support group where people learn self-empowering skills and support each other in their recovery. Smart Recovery has been developed to overcome all types of addic-tions. Group members use tools based on scientifically tested methods for addiction recovery, such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Weight Loss Group - for pre-post-and non-surgical weight loss, meet the second Tuesday of each month from 9:30-11 a.m. and the third Monday of each month from 6:30-8 p.m. Meetings will be held at St. Philip’s Church, 256 E. Widowed Person Support of WNC, The location for these sessions is First United Methodist Church, 325 N. Broad St. in Brevard.
