Marc Yaxley Trio To Give Concert

The Marc Yaxley Trio will perform at the Guitar Academy of Western North Carolina on Sunday, March 11, at 4 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 at the door. Advanced ticket sales can be purchased online at

Playing professionally since age 15, Yaxley has toured throughout the United States alongside such jazz greats as Carl Fontana, Maurice Moore, Ira Sullivan and Harold Blanchard. Since moving to Western North Carolina in 1993, he has recorded six CDs and performed as a soloist at numerous local venues, including the Grove Park Inn Jazz Festival. Currently, Yaxley serves on the music faculty at UNC-Asheville.

Cameron Austin was a mainstay bassist and producer for both live and studio production in Atlanta, Ga. He also serves as an assistant professor in the Business and Organiza-tional Leadership department at Brevard College.

Bill Berg has recorded with folk-music greats Bob Dylan, Cat Stevens and Leo Kottke. He is also an original member of the fusion group Flim and the BB’s. Berg also does session work and concerts with The Wayne Johnson Trio and Clare Fisher Big Band, amongst other groups on the West Coast.

The Guitar Academy of Western North Carolina is located at 235 Duncan Hill Road between Lowe’s and Egolf Motors in the Duncan Hill Commerce Center in Hendersonville. The listening room comfortably seats 70 people in an intimate, non-alcoholic environment with excellent acoustics.
