On Tuesday evening, April 24, at 7 p.m., the Faith-Science Dialog will continue its series, “Digging up the Past,” with a presentation by Dr. Blythe Williams, Ph.D. of Duke University.
His topic is “The Rise of Humans,” a discussion of the critical periods in the evolutionary transition from ape to human.
The public is invited to this free event, and child care is provided.
On Saturday, April 21, the children have a trip to the Museum of the Cherokee Indian in Cherokee.
They will be leaving the church at 10 a.m. Participants must let Billy know if they are going to have enough transportation.
On Sunday, April 22, there are Bible study classes for all ages beginning at 9:45 a.m. The morning worship begins at 11 a.m. Pastor Voorhes’ sermon this week is “Jesus Advice for a Wimpy Recovery” based on scripture found in Matthew 6:19-33. Child-ren’s worship is at 11:15 a.m.
On Sunday night, the praise team has practice at 6 p.m. MBA for adults, and classes for youth and children begin at 7 p.m.
On Wednesday, April 25, there is praise team practice at 6 p.m. At 7 p.m., there is prayer meeting for the adults and Children in Action. The worship choir has practice at 8 p.m.
The public is invited to any of these events.
Beginning Sunday, April 22, and every third Sunday of each following month, Temple Baptist Church will provide music with a message from the church’s youth leader Jayson Rogers.
Refreshments will be served at 5:30 with the music and message from 6-7 p.m.
Mount Moriah Cemetery
A Mount Moriah Cemetery working will be held Saturday, April 21, from 9 a.m. until noon.
Anyone with relatives buried at Mount Moriah Cemetery is encouraged to come out and work.
