After months of preparation, the Brevard Brewing Company opens its doors and starts pulling pints today.
The business is located in the Ansley Building on East Main Street in downtown.
Brewmaster and business owner, Kyle Williams, will have several of his beers on tap at the location, where customers will also be able to view the large beer vats.
The Brevard Brewing Company will specialize in producing lagers. Its flagship beer will be a Bohemian Pilsner, with imported hops from the Czech Republic and Germany.
Other beers include:
• an American Premium Lager, a light beer;
• a dark beer, Munich Dunkel;
• an American Red Ale, which will have an “unmistakable caramel flavor;” and
• an American IPA, an India Pale Ale.
Ten beers, including “guest beers,” are scheduled to be on tap to try at the brewery.
The tentative hours of the Brevard Brewing Company are 4 p.m. until 10 p.m ., Monday through Thursday, and 2 p.m. until midnight on the weekend.
The times may change depending on customer reaction. Williams, who is originally from Erwin, Tenn ., already has orders to sell to bars and restaurants around town.
The brewery will also feature work by local artists Robert Urban and R. Hanes Hoffman Jr. The work will be available for purchase.
Madrid Zimmerman, executive director of the Heart of Brevard, is excited about the Brewery’s opening.
“Kyle Williams represents the young entrepreneurs we like to see develop businesses in our community,” she said. “They are appreciative of our lifestyle connected to the outdoors, and have to be especially creative if they want to carve out a career here.
They represent the future with potential families who can establish roots here for generations to come.”
