Edna Madeline Hipps Kilpatrick


Edna Madeline Hipps Kilpatrick, 84, passed away May 9, 2012, in Jennings, Okla.

Born Feb. 10, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Johnny and Santie Eliza Hipps. Most of her life was spent in Brevard where she loved to garden and spend time with family and friends. She loved the Lord and doing his will.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Kilpatrick; sisters, Stella Brown and Vada Hargus; brothers, Herman, Bob and Henry Hipps; son, Paul Kilpatrick and grandson, Jesse Kilpatrick.

Surviving are her two daughters, Sandra Crane, of Brevard, and Kathy Tuttle, of Flat Rock; two sons, Mike Kilpatrick, of Florida, and Todd Kilpatrick, of Oklahoma; daughter-in-law, Wendy Kilpatrick, of Avery’s Creek; brothers, Horace Hipps, of Etowah, Bill Hipps, of Florida, and Pharlo Hipps, of Tennessee, and a sister, Margaret Huntley, of Fletcher; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, May 26, 2012, at Williamson Creek Community Center in Brevard from 1 until 4 p.m.
