Ted Marlin McKinney

Ted Marlin McKinney, 75, of Hendersonville, and a longtime resident of Pisgah Forest, died Thursday, May 10, 2012, at the Laurels of Hendersonville.

Born in Haywood County in 1936, he was a son of the late Roger and Helen McKinney. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Virginia Davis McKinney; his adopted son, James McKinney; and a sister, Betty McGowan.

He retired from DuPont and Olin in Brevard and became a resident of Henderson County after his retirement.

He is survived by a daughter, Valencia Gash, of Brevard (daughter of Virginia); his second wife, Delores McKinney, of Henderson County; three brothers, William McKinney, of Mississippi, and Roger and Bryant McKinney, of Georgia; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He will be missed and was dearly loved by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witnesses North Congregation, 2184 Jeffress Road, in Mills River.
