Blanchard Named Vice President Of State Funeral Directors – Brevard NC
Cathleen Blanchard, sixth from the left, was recently elected vice president of the North Carolina Funeral Directors Association.
The North Carolina Funeral Directors Assoc-iation (NCFDA) held their 126th Annual Convention, May 13-15, at the Sheraton Imperial in Research Triangle Park. The association was established in 1887 and currently has more than 500 members.
During the business meeting Cathleen Blanchard of Moore Funeral Home in Brevard was elected vice-president.
Current President Cary Cannady, CFSP, Montlawn Funeral Home of Raleigh, presided over the meetings that included featured speakers: Randall Earl, CFSP, NFDA immediate past president of the National Funeral Directors Association; Dr. Rick Snow, forensic anthropologist on Tri-County Crematory Incident: Mistakes Made, Lessons Learned; Michael Needo, Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home of Charlotte, on Cremation and Family Values; and Ellery Bowker of Directors Advantage on Websites and How to Make Google Love You.
Workshops were also held by Mel Pennington and Walker Posey, funeral directors from South Carolina, on Using Technology to Better Communicate, and Ryan Thogmartin, Disrupt Media and Connection Directors, on Four Simple Internet Tools to Grow Your Business.
The next state meeting will be May 12-14, 2014.
