Rev. Lee Ray Greene
Rev. Lee Ray Greene, 57, passed away unexpectedly Friday, July 19, 2013, at Wake Medical Center, in Raleigh, N.C.
He was the son of Cyrus Addon Greene and Ruth C. Greene, both deceased, from Hillsborough, N.C.
He graduated from UNC-Wilmington with a B.A. degree in philosophy and religion. He also received his master of divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, in 1986.
He has served the past 37 years as a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in various churches from Wilmington to Brevard. He was the former pastor of Glady Branch Baptist Church.
He has been involved in foreign, home, state, local and state fair missions. His love for the Lord and for people flowed through his actions and lifestyle. He worked with the Naga people of Nagaland/India and the African people of the Mathare Valley slum in Nairobi, Kenya.
He was serving as a chaplain with Corporate Chaplains of America where he gave Christian encouragement to over 1,600 employees in five corporations.
Survivors include his wife and best friend, Beth C. Greene, and two daughters, Sarah Elizabeth Greene and Lydia Renee Greene, all of the Raleigh area; his brother, Eddie Greene, of Boone, N.C., and his sister, Donna G. Hardy, of Chesapeake, Va., and their families.
Family and friends will gather for visitation and a memorial service to celebrate his life of sharing God’s love Saturday, July 27, 2013. Visitation will begin at 1 until 2:30 p.m. and the memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. Both will be held at Bay Leaf Baptist Church, 12200 Bayleaf Church Road, in Raleigh.
