As the season came to an end, Brevard High School Marching Band left a strong impression with this year's show OVER THRONE by winning royally. The 2013 Marchers, under the direction of Kenneth Franklin, brought home seven additional awards to proudly display with the ten trophies acquired earlier in the season.

Competing against 25 bands from five states, our Brevard High School Marching Band brought home fifth place at the Pride of the Mountains competition held at Western Carolina University. Continuing to impress, they travelled to Owen High School where they claimed the People's Choice award and swept up trophies with Music, Color Guard, and Drum Major taking 1st place, Percussion taking 2nd place, and placing first overall adding the Warhorse Classic, the highest award given, to the Marching Band Walls of Fame! What a fantastic season for our Brevard High School Marching Band!

With the change of seasons, the Brevard High School Marching Band trades in marching shoes and uniforms for black tie as they dazzled their audience with a fall concert featuring pieces from Homage: "Three Tapes-tries" by David Holsinger, "Fascinating Rhythm" by Gershwin, and Schubert's "Lebenslust." Joined by the Brevard High School Chorus and Dance Troop, this concert was a treat for all who attended.

Now, with the holidays fast approaching, Brevard High School Bands and Chorus will bring the spirit of the season to our community with their holiday spectacular scheduled for Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Porter Arts Center at Brevard College featuring such favorites as "Joy to the World," "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen," "Hark the Herald Angles Sing," "Silent Night," and "Jingle Bells," just to name a few.

The production will also delight with a Barber Shop Quartet, Jazz Band and Jazz Choir, and small ensembles performing more favorites. This concert is sure to please young and old alike.
