County Residents Must Register To Vote By Oct. 10 - Brevard NC

Transylvania County residents not currently registered to vote must do so by Oct. 10 to participate in the upcoming general election.

This deadline also applies to registered voters needing to update their registration record, such as change of address or name.

The registration application must be received by Oct. 10.

If an application is received after the deadline, the application may still be timely if mailed and postmarked on or before Oct. 10. Otherwise, the application will not be processed until after the election.

Registration forms are available at http://www.transylvaniaelections.org or at the Transylvania County Board of Elections Office, 221 S. Gaston Street, Brevard, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Individuals who register at the NC Division of Motor Vehicles or another voter registration agency will be considered registered based upon the date of when the application is given to the agency. As long as this date is on or before the voter registration deadline, then the application will be deemed timely.

To check voter registration information or status, call the Board of Elections at 884-3114 or visit the website.
