London To Address Parkinson's Group – Brevard NC

Richard London

Richard London will be the "Parkinson's Awareness" month speaker, April 14.

The support group meets at 10 a.m. in the fellowship hall of the Brevard-Davidson River Presbyterian Church. The public is invited to attend.

London is a person with Parkinson's, host of the Internet talk show "Health Chat with Richard London," author, and motivational speaker. He speaks across the U.S. and Canada sharing secrets with people with Parkinson's and their caregivers on how to live well with Parkinson's disease and enjoy every day.

London has had his share of challenges. He has undergone nine surgeries following a life changing automobile accident that put him in and out of hospitals for 10 months. In 2003 he was diagnosed with prostate cancer and is now an 11-year cancer survivor. Two years after his cancer diagnosis he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.

Since his Parkinson's diagnosis, he has earned a black belt in jujutsu, started scuba diving, and written two books. But, most importantly, he cherishes his relationships with everyone he comes in contact with. He is happily married to his wife of 28 years, and has two adult children.
