Ruby Wright Baynard

Ruby Wright Baynard, 80, of Asheville, died Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at John F. Keever Solace Center.

She was born Feb. 11, 1935, in Buncombe County, where she had lived all of her life.

She loved flowers and gardening, was a member of Bingham Heights Baptist Church, in Asheville and had worked at American Enka for 42 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl Andrew Wright and Alda Mae Duncan Wright; brothers, Garland Wright and Carl Wright Jr .; and sisters, Alice Rice and Madelyn Cole.

Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Ted Baynard, formerly of Brevard; daughter, Rosa Maynor and husband, Keith; son, Dean Baynard and wife, Angela, all of Barnardsville; sister, Adelaide Williamson, of Asheville; grandchildren, Cindy Marshall and husband, Michael, of Shelton Laurel, Melisa Hensley and husband, Shane, of Asheville, Brandon Maynor and girlfriend, Amy Anders of Dandridge, Tenn .; and great-grandchildren, Makayla, Kyra, Natalie, Alayna, Kylie, and Jackson.

A funeral service was held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 29, 2015, in the chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., in Weaverville, with Rev. Nelson Ponder officiating.

Burial was in West Memorial Park.

The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at the funeral home.

At other times, the family was at the residence.

Flowers are acceptable and appreciated.
