Blue Devils Compete At Conference Tourney – Brevard NC

A pair of Blue Devil golfers competed for a WNC Athletic Conference championship Tuesday, earning a chance at a regional title along the way.

Will Byrd finished third overall with a 161 in the two-day tournament. He was the top Blue Devil finisher.

Byrd was tied at the end of the first day with eventual champion Brandon Capps of West Henderson, who shot a 74 on Monday to win the individual conference championship.

Austin Nale was second for the Blue Devils with a 184. His score was also good enough to qualify for the regional tournament the Lake Hickory Country Club next week.

Tuscola won the overall team title, 15 strokes ahead of Pisgah's 675.

Franklin was next with a 704, good for third place. North Henderson shot a 725 and West a 732.
