Library To Host International Games Day – Brevard NC

Saturday, Nov. 21, from 2-5 p.m., Transylvania County Library will join thousands of libraries around the world in the eighth annual celebration of gaming in libraries: International Games Day @ Your Library. This drop-in, all-ages event is suitable for the young and young at heart, and will include a wide variety of board, card, and other games to play with friends, family, or someone new.

Refreshments will be provided to create an easy atmosphere of camaraderie and community through the popularity and power of games and play.

Why games in the library?

Libraries are centers for sharing culture and information. Games are a form of culture that often cannot be experienced without another player. They are good for the brain through strategy and problem-solving, foster important life skills like socialization, and they’re fun!

This program is free and open to the public thanks to support from the Friends of the Library. International Games Day @Your Library is an international initiative supported by the American Library Association, and similar organizations worldwide.
