Title: Deputy chief, Brevard Police Department

Law enforcement experience: More than 16 years with the Brevard Police Department and Transylvania County Sheriff's Office.

What things do you like to do outside of work?

•Enjoying outdoor activities with family.

Favorite sports teams?

•Carolina Panthers and Oakland Raiders.

What types of things are you involved within the community?

•I am involved with the Transylvania County Cops for Kids, which aims at making Christmas a little brighter for children in the area.

What are the major issues law enforcement faces in Brevard?

•Public's perception of police officers in today's national events involving use-of-force incidents. Also, combating the criminal element with repeat offenders.

Proudest moment as a law enforcement official?

•Receiving a "thanks" from a victim of a crime when the case is solved and an arrest is made.

Also, being hired at the Brevard Police Department as a second generation officer.
