Pisgah Forest Man Arrested - Brevard NC

A Pisgah Forest man who led Transylvania County Sheriff’s deputies on a high-speed chase was apprehended in Henderson County.

Joshua D. Weaver, 35, of 3603 Wilson Road, was charged with fleeing or eluding arrest with a motor vehicle, which is a felony, failure to heed light or siren and aggressive driving on Jan. 19.

According to Chief Deputy Eddie Gunter, deputies attempted to pull Weaver over in Transylvania County on Dec. 10 on Crab Creek Road near Little River Baptist Church when Weaver allegedly fled in his vehicle.

Gunter said the chase reached speeds of close to 100 miles-per-hour and became too dangerous for deputies to continue.

“Traffic was terrible and they decided to discontinue the chase,” Gunter said.

Sheriff’s investigators received information about his whereabouts and with the help of Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, Weaver was taken into custody.

Weaver remains in jail on a $5,000 secured bond. Weaver also has a pending driving while license revoked and parole violation charges.
