Two Charged For Drug Possession – Brevard NC

A search of a residence in the Penrose community led to the arrest of two Transylvania County residents for allegedly being in possession of multiple drugs.

Richard M. Brickner, 25, was charged with possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a residence for sale/storage of a controlled substance, simple possession of buprenorphine and resisting a public officer on March 16.

Shannon Maureen Dibernardino, 26, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and simple possession of buprenorphine.

The Transylvania County Narcotics Task Force, with the help of the Transylvania County Sheriff’s Office, executed the warrant at the 171 Vineyard Loop residence, which led to investigators finding the drugs.

A press release from the task force said buprenorphine is a generic drug, which is also known as Subutex and is listed as a schedule II controlled substance.

Brickner was taken to the Transylvania County Detention Center, where he remains on a $21,000 secure bond.

Dibernardino was taken to the Transylvania County Detention Center, where she later posted a $1,000 secure bond and was released.

Brickner was later charged by the N.C. Probation and Parole Department for violation of his probation conditions and an additional $20,000 secured bond was placed on Brickner’s incarceration.
