Mary Ann (Marianne) Bertlshofer Gove

Mary Ann (Marianne) Bertlshofer Gove, 86, of Brevard, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016.

She was the daughter of the late Leo and Isadore Agnes Bertlshofer.

The funeral service will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Aug. 23, 2016, at 2 p.m.

Cemetery memorial service will follow at the Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

Lovingly known to her nieces and nephews as "AM," she was born in Springfield, Ill. May 28, 1930. After years of travel and life in Florida, she moved to the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. She called Brevard home for more than 48 years.

She worked as an executive assistant for Honeywell in Florida, Ecusta Corporation in Pisgah Forest and MLS support for the Board of Realtors in Brevard.

She enjoyed traveling, gardening, reading and spending quality time with her family. Her peaceful and calm demeanor was nourished daily by her faith in the Good Lord and his promise to all of us.

She is survived by nieces, Karla Marie Bertlshofer, Terri Phillips and husband, Will Phillips, Christina Bertlshofer and her nephews, Patrick Dixon Bertlshofer and wife, Susan, and Stephen Bertlshofer; great-nieces, Kristina Marie Smith, Katarina Bertlshofer and Rebecca Bertlshofer; great-nephews, Jonathan Andrew Smith and Connor Bertlshofer; great-grandniece, Hannah Pierce, and great-grandnephew, Lennon Pierce; the Brennon family and other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Leo Bertlshofer; her mother, Isadore Agnes Gleason; step-mother, Gertrude Dixon Bertlshofer; husband, Elmer Paul Gove; brothers, George Leo Bertlshofer and Patrick Joseph Bertlshofer; sister, Mary Beatrice Bertlshofer Holmes; and her life companion, Jim Brennon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in her name. The family of Marianne Bertlshofer Gove wishes to thank Carnival Cruise Lines for their compassion and care.
