Elk Haven Wellness Center To Hold Open House This Friday – Brevard NC

New life has come to the old Brevard Elks Club building, where the Elk Haven Wellness Center is a new destination spot for health and wellness. The center will hold an open house this Friday, Sept. 9, from noon-4 p.m. The event will offer tours of the center, refreshments and opportunities to meet the staff of practitioners and learn about the therapies offered.

With a focus on assisting people to regain optimal health or simply maintain it, the center offers a wide variety of therapies and classes with highly skilled practitioners and teachers. With its four nurturing treatment rooms, the center offers a range of modalities.

Buddy Tompkins and Nancy McCullough, of Advanced Bodywork Wellness Group, are trained to provide specific diagnosis- driven massage therapy, along with relaxation and general stress release.

Nancy Blue of Therapeutic Essentials, offers Healing Touch sessions coupled with stress reduction education and rapid eye technology to help clients regain and maintain their health. She is co-founder and practitioner of The Beyond Surgery Program, a pre and post-surgical care package.

Joanna Bliss offers sessions of spiritual direction, Healing Touch sessions and is also a surgical coaching practitioner of The Beyond Surgery® Program.

Acupuncturist Belinda Roberts believes that almost any condition can benefit from balancing the body’s different systems through acupuncture and other Chinese medical practices, such as moxibustion and cupping.

A variety of movement classes are held weekly at Elk Haven. Tai chi is a Chinese form of meditative movement that can be helpful for improving balance, lowering blood pressure and a host of other benefits. Instructor Aaron Thompson has 13 years of experience and leads a lively class through the Yang – style short form, on Thursday afternoons in the community room.

Pilates instructor Eva Cavros Robbins offers one-on-one training on the Reformer by appointment. She also leads group Pilates chair classes on Friday mornings.

Experienced yoga teachers Rhae Mosely and Kashmyra Asnani provide various levels of challenge in their weekly classes held in the community room.

Thalia Brennan of Life Horizons, LLC, provides counseling and life coaching by appointment in Elk Haven’s private consultation room.

Rob Field, director of Center for Spiritual Wisdom, hosts workshops and courses for those seeking to enrich their spiritual practices.

The newly renovated center on Elks Club Road also offers rentable space in its commercial kitchen and a community room for special classes, meetings and events. Currently, the kitchen is home to Reason to Bake, a gluten-free cookie bakery; GreenHeart Juice, a source of freshly cold-pressed organic juices, and it is the commissary kitchen for the Aloha Hot Dog Company. There is also a unique and thriving mossery, Mountain Moss, on the property.

Most appointments are made by calling or emailing individual practitioners. Class schedules and fees are posted on the Facebook page and will soon be on the center’s website, http://www.elkhavenwellness.com.
