Focus On Facts With Voter ID

I’d like to thank Mr. Mockridge for reading my letter about the NC voter ID Act of 2013. My only reason for writing the letter was to present facts showing that it did not suppress black voters as so often claimed by those who oppose the Act.

First, the fact that voters could be asked at the polls for photo ID in 2014 but wouldn’t actually have to produce same, seems to me to be irrelevant. What speaks loudest is the fact that black turnout increased after the voting act of 2013 was passed. The Act did not intimidate black voters or suppress their voting and, in fact, may have caused...
