Christmas celebrations will take place this Saturday in downtown Brevard, while Rosman will host its Christmas Parade Sunday.

The Brevard/Transylvania County Chamber of Commerce will host the annual Christmas parade at 3 p.m., followed by the Heart of Brevard’s Christmas festival, Twilight Tour.

At 7:30 p.m., Brevard College’s annual Lessons & Carols concert will be held at the Porter Center for Performing Arts’ Scott Concert Hall campus.

The parade and Christmas festival will feature community members, local businesses, non-profit organizations and performances.

Twilight Tour offers many activities for children, including train rides, pony rides, pictures with Santa and a Christmas craft workshop.

Food trucks and craft vendors will also be available to attendees.

The Brevard College Concert Choir and Chamber Singers will perform the 20th annual festival of Lessons & Carols.

Following in the nearly century-old tradition of the ceremony held at King’s College in England, the program will alternate biblical readings chronicling the prophecy and birth of Christ, with carols that illuminate a part of the previous reading.

This year’s Christmas Parade has the theme “Christmas in the Forest.”

Smokey Bear will be the grand marshal. The parade marshal is The Pisgah Conservancy.

The parade’s route is from Brevard High School to Brevard College along Broad Street.

Those businesses or organizations interested in participating in the parade, should pick up an application at the chamber office at 175 E. Main St. in Brevard, or call 883-3700, or email
