The Transylvania Times -

'Faces of Freedom' Exhibit Opens At TC Arts Jan. 16 – Brevard NC

January 12, 2017

Local resident and Brevard High School graduate Billy Smith created this painting. Smith is just one of several local artists who will be presenting their works at the "Faces of Freedom" exhibition at TC Arts later this month.

A community of local artists invites you to experience freedom through an artistic lens at the Transylvania Community Arts Council from Jan. 16 – Feb. 3.

"The theme 'Faces of Freedom,' is the catalyst to inspire a creative and experiential journey of freedom. Explore how freedom is viewed, interpreted and felt from an artistic point of view. We hope that through the journey, you leave with a more expansive feeling of what freedom could be for us all," said organizer Nicola Karesh.

An evening reception and performances will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 17 from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. Artists in this exhibit include: Kathy Santeiro, Nachin Bone, Mountain Sun Community School (art teacher - Kim Bird Skeen,) Betsy Vingle, Billy Smith, Alana Merrell, Gwynn Jennings and Tara Singh.
