Medical Equipment Needed

February 27, 2017

All of our area counties have centers for the free loan of medical equipment. Transylvania County is served by Habitat for Humanity on Ecusta Road. As most medical equipment is expensive, is only needed on a temporary basis and is not covered by insurance, this is a great service to people recovering from surgery or accidents. Unfortunately, the Habitat supply is currently very low.

They need walkers, wheelchairs, canes, crutches, reachers, raised commodes, long-handled shoehorns and sponges, and sock aides.

If you have medical equipment at home, lying unused in your attic or basement, consider donating it to Habitat.
