Mickey Marvin

Mickey Marvin, 61, of Hendersonville, went home to be with Jesus Monday, March 6, 2017, at his home, following his battle with ALS.

A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, he was preceded in death by his father, Gordon J. Marvin, and grand-mother, Dalla Green.

He played and worked in various capacities for the Oakland/LA Raiders organization for 39 years.

A lifelong member of the First Church of the Nazarene, he was a devout follower of Christ and found the most joy in sharing his testimony with others.

Surviving is his loving wife of 36 years, Lisa Conway Marvin; one son, Jonathan Michael Marvin, of Hendersonville; one daughter, Paige Marvin Stines and husband, Joshua, of Seattle, Wash .; mother and father, Inez and Stan Taylor, of Etowah; and a brother, Linden Marvin, of Hendersonville.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, March 12, 2017, at the Hendersonville First Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Sherman Waters, Rev. John Marra and Rev. Joshua Stines officiating.

Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 4 until 7 p.m., Saturday, March 11, at the church.
