Tigers Strike Early To Defeat Robbinsville

The Rosman Tigers posted a trio of runs in the first inning and never looked back as they took down the visiting Robbinsville Black Knights 8-4 Friday afternoon.

A Robbinsville walk with the bases loaded provided the game’s first run before Tanner Ruff singled to drive two more runs in for Rosman.

The Tigers got three more free runs in the third inning of two walks and a hit batter.

Robbinsville scored a pair of runs in the sixth and seventh, but Rosman held on for the win.

Harper Reese got the win on the mound, giving up just one hit and striking out five over four scoreless innings.

Rosman (4-2) hosts Rabun Gap (0-4) Monday and travels to Swain County (2-4) on Tuesday.

Lady Tigers Beat North, Fall To Robbinsville

The Rosman Lady Tigers pounded out 22 runs in a win against North Henderson last Thursday, but lost a heartbreaker in a conference battle with Robbinsville on Friday.

Rosman’s offensive explosion propelled to the team to a 22-13 win against North.

Marissa Henson homered and finished with three RBIs.

Paiton Reese drove in five runs and Alicia Guinn drove in four.

Friday, Rosman held a 9-7 lead over Robbinsville with three outs to play, but the Lady Knights pulled ahead and Rosman couldn’t answer in the bottom of the inning as they lost 10-9.

Henson, Guinn and freshman Abby Rice all had two RBIs on the day.

Rosman (3-4) travels to Swain County (1-4) Tuesday and Robbinsville (5-0) on Thursday.
