BMC To Hold Open Auditions For Verdi's Requiem Chorus

April 20, 2017

Brevard Music Center (BMC) is seeking talented singers from throughout the region to participate in a rousing choral ensemble featured in its 2017 season finale performance of Verdi’s Requiem on Sunday, Aug. 6 at 3 p.m. The chorus, including BMC students, alumni, and members of the community, will join BMC Principal Guest Conductor JoAnn Falletta and the Brevard Music Center Orchestra onstage at Whittington-Pfohl Auditorium to bring Brevard’s season to a dramatic finish.

“We are thrilled to close our season with a performance of Verdi’s Requiem - one of the great choral works in the repertoire,” said Jason Posnock, BMC director of artistic planning & educational programs. “This is a wonderful opportunity to directly engage our community and share the joy of working in harmony to make music together.”

Auditions for the choral ensemble will be held on Monday, May 8, and Tuesday, May 9, at Brevard College. All singers are required to pre-register for an individual time slot on one of the two days. Each singer will vocalize to demonstrate range and ability. No audition piece is required.

To pre-register for the audition, contact David Gresham at [email protected] before Monday, May 1.
