Former Softball Coach Uses The Diamond For Ministry

Former Rosman softball coach Scott Limerick, pictured in the back row on the far left, has been working with the I Am A Gem foundation that provides free baseball/softball clinics to impoverished children. Limerick also works with the organization Compassion International and described the two as "parallel ministries."

For the first time in three years, Scott Limerick hasn't spent the past few months on the diamond at Rosman High School as head coach of the Lady Tigers.

But that doesn't mean he's stepped away from the game – quite the opposite, in fact.

These days, Limerick is constantly on the road working with a foundation aimed at using sports to help some of the most impoverished children in the nation and abroad.

For the past year, Limerick has been part of the I Am A Gem foundation.
