Bethany Chappell To Graduate May 12

Mr. and Mrs. Bradley Chappell announce the graduation of their daughter, Bethany Allison Chappell, from Burnt Mountain Home School, on Friday, May 12, at 6:30 p.m. at the Whitewater Baptist Church.

Bethany is graduating with honors from North Carolina Home Educators. She has earned 70 high school credits, including 51 college credits from Blue Ridge Community College. She has received an Honor Student Certificate in American Sign Language; was elected to serve as an officer of the Student Government Association for the 2016-2017 academic year at Blue Ridge Community College; and was also honored to participate as a graduation marshal in the December, 2016 graduation at Blue Ridge Community College.

Bethany has received $1,000 for serving in the SGA. She also won a $500 scholarship from Ecusta Credit Union, and is the recipient of the Haywood EMC scholarship for $1,000. Bethany is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

She plans to transfer to A-B Technical Community College where she will begin her summer semester in the Engineering Program. After she achieves her associate's degree from A-B Tech, Bethany plans to transfer to Western Carolina University to complete her bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
