The streets of downtown Brevard will come to life with art on Tuesday, July 4, as the Transylvania Community Arts Council celebrates its 45th annual Fine Arts and Crafts Showcase in conjunction with the Heart of Brevard’s Fourth of July Celebration and Transylvania Region AACA Classic Car Show. The three-festivals-in-one will feature music, arts, crafts, food, children’s activities and more, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The 45th annual Fine Arts and Crafts Showcase will feature more than 33 North and South Carolina artists and crafters who have been juried into the show based on their excellent original art and craft work in jewelry, pottery, fiber, wood, metal, painting, photography and more. Artists will be located on West Main Street from the corner of OP Taylor’s Toy Store and Number 7 Arts Gallery down to the WSQL Radio Station and Trade-Arama Folk Art & Vintage Items.

On the evening of July 4th, head down to Brevard College for the TC Arts Council’s Duck Race starting at 6 p.m. on King’s Creek next to the gymnasium. The TC Arts Council will be selling ducks all day at the downtown festival on the “Art Block” (West Main St.). It is only $5 to sponsor a duck to enter the race. Prizes include cash and gift certificates from downtown businesses like Rocky’s Grill & Soda Shop, Number 7 Arts, Blue Ridge Bakery, Kiwi Gelato, and Local Color.
