Sharyn Fogel's Work To Be Part Of Watercolor Exhibition

Fogel's "Roadside Chapel" will be on display in Greensboro next month as part of the 72nd Annual Juried Exhibition of the Watercolor Society of North Carolina.

Sharyn Fogel has been accepted into the 72nd Annual Juried Exhibition of the Watercolor Society of North Carolina. The juror for this competition, renowned and internationally-acclaimed watercolorist Mary Whyte, will announce the winners of this state-wide competition on Sunday, Oct. 15, during the WSNC's annual meeting being held at Greensboro College in Greensboro, N.C.

The artwork chosen by Fogel is entitled "Roadside Chapel" and will be on display at Anne Rudd Galyon & Irene Cullis Galleries in the Cowan Humanities Building at Greensboro College.

Sharyn Misenheimer Fogel, a Brevard native, has artfully captured majestic mountain views for over 40 years. She attended Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, Fla., UNC Asheville and Brevard College.

She studied portrait painting with Roman and Constantine Chatov in Atlanta, Ga. for three years, and participated in many workshops with well-respected teachers, including Joe Miller, Tony Couch, Daniel Greene, Sue Russell, Eileen Fabian, Herbie Rose, Dean Davis and Michael Del Priore.

Fogel displays her work at Mountain Made in the Grove Arcade in Asheville, A Walk in the Woods in Hendersonville, at The Maple Rose in Lake Toxaway, and by appointment in her home studio in Brevard (828) 884-2254.

Fogel is a member of the Portrait Society of America the Watercolor Society of North Carolina, and is a member and past president of the Transylvania Art Guild.
