The Transylvania Times -

Family Hoedown For The Haven At Lola's Oct. 7 - Brevard, NC

September 28, 2017

Bring the whole family to Lola’s Old Hickory House on Saturday, Oct. 7, from 4 to 8 p.m., to benefit The Haven of Transylvania County. It’s a family affair, including dance music by DJ Dogg (Class & Sound), face painting, hair tinting for the young or the brave, a hoola hoop competition, three legged races, cornhole, a raffle, a cakewalk and more.

Everyone is invited to attend this family event supporting The Haven. Tickets to the fundraiser are $30 per adult, $10 for kids 6-12 years and free for children under 6.

Indulge yourself in Lola’s finest barbecue chicken and pork with all the trimmings.

Beer, wine and soft drinks will be available for a donation.

The Haven, with a staff of four, has been in operation for six years, providing emergency shelter and counseling for our homeless population.

With no government support, The Haven depends on fundraisers like this one to operate.

Proceeds from tickets sales, the raffle and donations will help in a big way.

Tickets can be purchased at Lola’s Old Hickory House, Nick Bearden’s Edward R. Jones office at 175 Rosman Highway, Entegra Bank and The Haven office or from any board member.

You are encouraged to park at the Brevard Racquet Club where volunteers will run a shuttle to Lola’s Old Hickory House at 1196 Country Club Road in Brevard.

For more information about this event or to learn more about The Haven, call (828) 877-2040.
