Customers enjoy tasting a variety of apples.

A fun and festive event to celebrate fall is planned as the Transylvania Farmers' Market holds their annual AutumnFest from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. this Saturday, Oct. 7.

The morning's event includes:

Free apple tasting - Stop by the market information booth to taste more than a dozen locally-grown varieties.

Healthy autumn recipes and samples - Stop by the market information booth to pick up healthy autumn recipe ideas and taste samples too.

Fun activities for kids - Stop by the market information booth to pick up a scavenger hunt sheet and win a fall-themed prize when you complete it. Then, test your skills at a pumpkin ring toss!

Live music by Laura Thurston - Thurston brings multi-instrumentalism to a new level. See this lovely lady rappin' on a suitcase kick drum with one foot and tappin' on a tambourine with the other; all the while, hands on her guitar and mouth on her harp. On top of that, Laura adds sweet sugary vocals to her acoustic folk-grass mix while giving energy and presence to capture your attention.

Breakfast and lots of great vendors. The market is excited to have Mama Bear's Food Truck as a new vendor. Stop by for a delicious breakfast and then enjoy wandering the market to see what the wide array of vendors have to offer. Everything at the Transylvania Farmers' Market is locally grown and produced and right now customers will find a wide array of great fall offerings.

Throughout the season, the market hosts weekly music and events.
