Bubbling Springs Branch

This week's outdoor destination hike is Bubbling Springs Branch, a tributary of the Pigeon River. Bubbling Springs Branch can be viewed from the road (N.C. 215), or from a short hike to the bottom of the waterfall. This waterfall is also one of the best locations for fall photography.

The leaves turn a bit earlier this high in elevation, and the location gives photographers many different angles to play with.

Bubbling Springs Branch is one of several cascades along this section of the Pigeon; some of them are harder to reach than others.

When exploring waterfalls, always wear appropriate footwear and never hike to the top, instead enjoy their beauty from the bottom safely.

Getting There:

From Brevard, take N.C 215 North past the Blue Ridge Parkway. Drive 1.9 miles to a gravel pullout on the right (east) side of the road.

The hike down to the bottom is over the guardrail.
