Novelist Wiley Cash To Speak At Highland Books - Brevard, NC

North Carolina native and New York Times bestselling author Wiley Cash will be at Highland Books Saturday, Nov. 18, at 11a.m. to talk about his much anticipated third novel “The Last Ballad,” which is once again set in our home state, North Carolina.

Cash, who currently lives in Wilmington, is writer-in-residence at the University of North Carolina Asheville and an instructor in the Mountainview Low Resi-dency MFA program.

He has been awarded the SIBA Book Award and was a finalist for the PEN/Robert W. Bingham Prize along with being nominated for various other awards.

Cash is well known for his New York Times Bestselling debut novel, “A Land More Kind Than Home,” which has been compared to “Of Mice and Men,” “To Kill a Mockingbird,” and “A Separate Peace.” His newest publication, “The Last Ballad,” is a raw and beautiful story of mill worker Ella May Wiggins amidst the bloody history of factory work and union protests in North Carolina. Copies of Cash’s novel will be available for purchase at the event.
