The Transylvania Times -

SylvanSport Presents Movie

November 30, 2017

SylvanSport will present “Losing Sight of Shore,” the extraordinary journey of four brave women, known as the “Coxless Crew,” who set out to row the Pacific Ocean from America to Australia unsupported.

As they rowed more than 8,000 miles during their nine months at sea, they faced extreme mental and physical challenges they overcame in order to go down in history. This is a story of perseverance, friendship, and the power of the human spirit.

The screening will be at SylvanSport, 235 Commerce St. in Brevard, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and movie starting at 7 p.m., on Thursday, Dec. 7.

Special guest, Laura Penhaul, team leader of the Coxless Crew, will be joining the audience live via Skype from her home in London, England for a question and answer segment.

Movie Night at SylvanSport is about sharing inspiring and amazing outdoor adventure stories from around the world.

There are so many people doing incredible things and going to extreme places, physically and mentally, SylvanSport can’t help but bring some of these stories to Transylvania County. SylvanSport converts part of its factory floor into a “movie theater,” complete with a big screen and fresh popcorn ready to go.

A unique part of every showing is to have a key player involved with the movie join the audience in the factory or via Skype for a Q&A session and get people that much closer to the story. In an effort to make these films as accessible to as many people as possible, Movie Night at SylvanSport is always a free event. Guests are asked to bring a chair and their adventurous spirit.
