Sixteen teams have signed up to take part in the spelling bee.

Augustine Literacy Project-Brevard will host its fundraiser, The BEE, on March 25 at the Lumberyard in Brevard. The Bee is an outrageously entertaining adult spelling bee and costume contest. Sixteen teams will battle it out to be Transylvania County’s best spellers. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the contest starts at 6:30 p.m.. El Querubin Food Truck and UpCountry Brewery will be on-hand as well. In addition to the competition, DJ Dogg will provide music, there will be a silent auction and Looking Glass Realty’s Amy Turner will provide a special half-time show. There is a $10 entry fee. All proceeds benefit Augustine Literacy Project.
