Brevard Music Center, (BMC), is a summer institute and festival that trains over 400 high-school and college-aged musicians each year and presents a seven-week public concert series throughout the summer. BMC is seeking a year-round, part-time, Accounts Payable, (A/P), Clerk who will provide bookkeeping and data entry support in accounting and serves as a receptionist for the main office. Average workload will be 25 hours per week. The Accounts Payable Clerk performs a variety of complex clerical and entry-level bookkeeping and accounting tasks, applying accepted procedures to the preparation and maintenance of accounting and other financial records. This position is responsible for ensuring the accurate accounting for petty cash, accounts payable invoicing, deposit preparation, by performing the following. Performs data entry; prepares posts and proofs accounting documents, such as fees, receipts, invoices, requisitions, vouchers, expense accounts, and related operating reports. Receives and reconciles petty cash; maintains cash book or other control record. Reviews invoices and post data into the Accounts Payable System. Reviews and reconciles employee expense reports and enters into the Accounts Payable System. Prepares checks for mailing. Files and maintains clerical records and reports, relays pertinent information to accounting supervisor. Serve as receptionist for main office. Process incoming and outgoing mail. Drop off and pick up mail from the Post Office. Assist all departments with mailings and other administrative projects as requested. Perform a variety of other duties as needed, either independently or in collaboration with others. Qualifications: High School Diploma with two years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2+ years of experience with A/P Clerk duties. Must be proficient in Excel familiarity with G Suite, (Google Apps), organizational skills, attention to details and accuracy. Customer service and telephone skills. Ability to lift heavy packages and carry mail crates. Familiarity with, and appreciation for, classical music performance preferred to provide knowledgeable assistance and information about BMC. Working conditions: Frequent local travel, (e.g. Brevard Post Office to pick up mail). May lift and carry heavy packages and mail crates. Flexible schedule available. May work extended hours during BMC's summer festival season in order to accomplish workload. Requirements: Complete satisfactory background check. Must have valid state driver's license.
