Henry Winston Cook Jr., 95, of Brevard, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023.
He was born a twin in Asheville Oct. 18, 1927, to the late Henry Winston Cook Sr. and Lucy Howard Cook, of Marshall, N.C. He went to Laurel High School in White Rock, N.C., Class of 1943, attended Tusculum University and studied chemistry at Western Carolina University. He was a Navy veteran and a retired engineer at E. I. DuPont de Nemours. He was married 70 years to the love of his life, Marguerite Joyce Cook, and was a lifelong member of Brevard Presbyterian Church.
He loved engineering, computers and fixing things. Later years, he and his wife, Marguerite, enjoyed traveling and dancing.
He is survived by two sons, Michael Winston Cook and wife, Julie and David Richard Cook and wife, Kathy; one daughter, Annette Cook Carney; grandchildren, Christy, Heather, Kelly, Adam, Kristen and Amanda; and great-grandchildren whom he loved and adored.
His wife, Marguerite Joyce Cook; a son, Gary Wayne Cook; and a sister, Ann Cook Bird, preceded him in death. A twin brother died at birth.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
A graveside service will be held at Blue Ridge Gardens, Saturday, May 27, 2023, at 11 a.m.
