Janet Carolyn Masengill

Janet Carolyn Masengill, 88, of Brevard, died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023, at Tore’s home.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Scott Masengill and a brother.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She and her husband, Bob, enjoyed traveling and traveled the world together. She taught special education and later in her career, 6th grade at Brevard Elementary School. She loved playing tennis and bridge.

She is survived by her husband, of 66 years, Bob Masengill, of Brevard; a son, Ken (Debby) Masengill, of Brevard; a daughter, Renee (David) Lennard, of Wilmington, N.C.; two granddaughters, Emily (Andrew) Ray, of Anderson, S.C. and Mindy (David) VanDeWater, of Anderson; five great-grandchildren, Wallace and Sadie Ray, James, Fischer and Emmalyn VanDeWater; and daughter-in-law; Christi Masi.
