It appears to this taxpayer our county leaders are facing having to dip into our pockets again, this time for the long discussed courthouse project that’s been finally moved from the back burner.

Perhaps they may be willing to consider a suggestion that may lessen our already skyrocketing tax bills: Since our county school experts seem to have failed to arrive at a workable solution to meet their perceived needs for the two high schools that can be delivered for the budget they asked for (and received), why not use what’s left of the $68 million to finally obtain the courthouse we seem to have to build.

When the school project dilemma is finally resolved and a realistic construction budget has been established, only then let our experts come back and sell us again.
