The following is a list of businesses, government offices, organizations, stores, restaurants and schools that have cancelled or modified their hours or services. We invite you to send in your cancellation or modification of hours/services for us to provide in this list. Please note - we have begun noting all new updates/changes/and cancellations each day with an asterisk in front of them so that readers can readily identify updates. ASSISTED LIVING FACILITIES

**•Cedar Mountain House is closed to the public until further notice.

•College Walk is closed to the public until further notice.

•Tore’s Home Inc. homes with clients are closed to the public until further notice.

BUSINESSES/RETAIL (GROCERS LISTED SEPARATELY BELOW IN THE NEXT CATEGORY)

•ABC Stores are open from 9am-9pm.

•Artists at work is available by appointment or remotely/virtually.

•Country Creations has changed its hours of operations from closing at 5 p.m. to closing at 4 p.m., every day.

**•Bear Arms Shooting Range is OPEN 12-6 WED-SUN

•Blue Moon Gallery is available by appointment or remotely/virtually.

•Broad Street Wines - ordering pre-ordering and curbside pick up.

•D.D. Bullwinkel's and Moose-tracks have closed to the public as of 3/21 until April 1. At that time they will reassess the situation and make a decision on their next steps.

•Ecusta Credit Union – The lobby is closed. Drive thru services are open.

•Egolf Motors is still open for business.

**•Hendersonville Greenhouse is open Mon. - Saturday 9am - 5pm and Sunday 12 pm to 5pm. Call for details 883-3003.

•New Hope Salon is closed until further notice.

•OP Taylors - closed until further notice. Retail is available online.

•State Employees’ Credit Union (SECU) branches statewide will temporarily transition to drive-thru only for the majority of its services.

•#7 Gallery closed 3/18 – 4/13.

•Highland Books – is closing through the weekend starting 3/20. They will reassess opening or doing curbside service at the beginning of the week.

•Local Color is closed this week. They will review when they are going to open after this week.

•Main Street Ltd. has closed until further notice.

**•Morgan Mill Trout Farm will not be opening the public fishing April 2020. Their plan is to open up when they feel it is safe and start the schools back up.They will be taking call in orders for pick up stay in your car we will bring it to you.

Our delivery truck is still running daily for stocking. Call 828 553 2217 and ask for Alfred.

•PNC Bank has closed for 4 weeks. The ATM is still in service.

•Quotations Coffee Cafe has closed until further notice.

**•Rice Furniture has announced that they are closing as of 3/27 at 5pm.

•Sycamore Cycles has closed until further notice.

•The Children’s Center Emporium closed.

•Theophilus is closing temporarily until further notice. They are open for curbside deliverty, shipping and home deliveries.

**•United Community Bank’s two Brevard locations have shifted to a drive-thru and appointment-only service model.

•The UPS Store of Brevard is open with regular hours. Special significant discounts are being offered to all businesses want to print signs for the stores/offices, etc.

•The Shop of St. Philip’s will also be closing temporarily and is accepting no donations.

**•The Transylvania Animal Shelter is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

CITY/COUNTY/STATE OFFICES

•Brevard City Hall - closed to visitors until further notice.

•The local N.C. Department of Motor Vehicles’ driver license office is closed.

•Transylvania County library reduced available services to include book checkout through internet access only. All gathering events have been cancelled.

•Transylvania County Recreation Center closed to the public until March 30. All gathering events have been cancelled.

**•WCCA has closed to walk-in visitors. WCCA services can be reached by phone at (828) 884-2255.

CHURCH NEWS:

**•Brevard Wesleyan Church will be offering free bagged meals this Thursday 3/26 from 5pm-6:30pm and Saturday rom 11am-12pm. They also invite residents to worship with the church at http://www.brevardwesleyan.org.

**•NEXT Church normally meets at the Boys and Girls Club in Brevard at 10 a.m. on Sunday mornings. However, we are currently joining with our community in doing our best to flatten the curve of COVID-19’s spread. So, we will be recording Bible teachings online for a few Sundays. The videos will be viewable at http://www.nextchurch nc.net.

**•St. Patrick’s Anglican: By order of the House of Bishops, St. Patrick’s will not be holding services on Sundays or Wednesdays for the foreseeable future. If you would like to join us in a telephonic service, contact Father Nick Henderson at (828) 687-0115 for details on how to participate.

**•St. Philip’s EpiscopalAll public worship services and activities have been suspended through Easter. Check out our website to find ways to participate virtually at http://www.stphilipsbrevardnc.org.

**•Sacred Heart Catholic Masses are being posted on Facebook live at noon each day Monday through Friday and at 10 a.m. each Sunday until further notice.

GROCERS/MARKETS/DRUG STORES:

• Bi-Lo is open from 8am-8pm.

**• CVS is now open from 8am-9pm. Saturday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Sunday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Pharmacy Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM OPEN. Saturday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Sunday 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM Delivery is available on prescriptions.

MinuteClinic OPEN: Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM OPEN, Saturday 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Sunday 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

•Food Matters Market - open regular hours with the first hour reserved for senior citizens and otherwise vulnerable shoppers from 8am-9am.

**•Food Lion is open from 7am-11pm. To ensure the safety of our customers and associates, they note they are no longer offering the following: fefunds, exchanges, rain checks, self-service food offerings, and Bissell Carpet Cleaner rentals.

•The Grateful Dog is open - taking orders and payments by phone with curbside pickup and delivery available.

**•Gordon Family Pharmacy is offering free home delivery and curbside pickup. Call 877-6111. Their hours are 9am to 6pm M-F and 9am-1pm on Sat.

**•Healthy Harvest Natural Foods is temporarily closed for the safety of customers and staff... but they offering a call-in and curbside service 828.577.3986 three days a week.

**•Ingles Markets has changed its store hours to 7 a.m.- 9 p.m. As of March 24, Ingles has dedicated the first shopping hour from 7 – 8 a.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays to senior shoppers, first responders and those with compromised immune systems. Ingles is also temporarily suspending product returns.

•SAVMOR is open Mon - Sun from 7 AM - 9 PM.

**•Transylvania County Farmer's Market - As of today, 3/26/20, the Transylvania Farmers’ Market will continue as planned this Saturday. (The state of North Carolina deems farms, agriculture, and farmers' markets as essential services, just like grocery stores.) Drive-up service will be available from 10am to 12pm on Saturday.

**•Walgreen's has adjusted their hours of operation: For everyone's safety, they updated our hours to allow for extra cleaning and stocking. Most stores are open 9am–9pm weekdays. Seniors-only shopping: 8am–9am every Tuesday*

•WALMART is open from 7am-8:30pm daily and the pharmacy is open 9am-7pm M-F, 9am-6pm Sat., 11am-5pm Sunday. Every Tuesday the store is now open at 6am for Senior residents to come shop early.

•Whistlestop Market: Still open with curbside service available. Delivery is also available.

EVENTS

•2020 Assault on the Carolinas (AOTC) bike ride scheduled for April 4 has been cancelled.

**•The Brevard Branch of American Association of University Women (AAUW) has cancelled its scheduled meetings and activities this spring. At this time they plan to resume regular activities on Sept. 8.

In addition, the annual AAUW Book Sale, scheduled for June 13-18 at the Brevard College Boshamer Gymnasium will not be held this year. Preparing for this large book sale takes months of work, work that intensifies during April and May. Rather than put our members in harm’s way at this time, we are suspending collection of books from the public and all other preparation. Without this groundwork it will not be possible to hold the Book Sale this June.

•Brevard Philharmonic presents Beethoven, Bottesini, and Bass on April 5th has been canceled.

•Brevard Philharmonic presents POPS: Stage, Page and Screen on May 17th has been canceled.

•Canceled ribbon cuttings: The Shop of St. Philip’s on March 23; Benchmark Physical Therapy on March 26; and Natural Elements Bath & Body on March 27.

••Second Look Films at the Library has been cancelled 4/4-5/16 at the library amphitheater.

•The annual meeting and dinner scheduled by STEP Western North Carolina for March 29 has been postponed.

•The Heart of Brevard’s “Arts in March” has been canceled.

**The North Carolina Republican Party has rescheduled its annual State Republican Convention from May 14-17 to June 4-7 in Greenville, NC.

**•The White Squirrel Festival has been cancelled. No new date has been set at this time.

**•Brevard Old Time Street Dances have been cancelled. No new dates have been set at this time.

•Brevard Little Theatre has postponed it’s production of "Sordid Lives" and canceled its Roaring 20’s Party. The theatre is temporarily closed until further notice.

MEDICAL/DOCTORS/HOSPITALS

•Pardee Drive-Thru COVID-19 Screening Site at Blue Ridge Community College - Effective 3/20/2020, the site will be closed and will likely reopen at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 23, once additional test kits are available.

•Transylvania Regional Hospital - Mission: Update on visitation: to protect patients and staff, Mission Health has elevated their visitor restrictions to Level 3, and will no longer allow visitors to any facilities until further notice. The exception will be for pediatric patients, who will be allowed to have one adult visitor with them at a time.

SCHOOLS

•Blue Ridge Community College is suspending face-to-face instruction, including work-based learning, effective Monday, March 23. Students should check their Blue Ridge email and online course shell before March 23 for instructions on how their courses will proceed.

**•Brevard College. Per the college: "We would like to emphasize that Brevard College will remain open during this time. Brevard College leadership will continue to monitor the situation and provide further instructions, as needed."

ACADEMIC AFFAIRS UPDATES:

Students will complete the remainder of your Spring semester 2020 classes online beginning on Monday, March 23.

If you are a resident student, please access MyBrevard for more information about collecting your belongings or remaining on campus. The Jones Library and the Experiential Learning Commons (ELC) will remain open to faculty, staff, and students. The Library and ELC is closed to the general public. Please keep 6 feet of space between yourself and other patrons, per CDC recommendations

•Transylvania County Schools is operating on a virtual day schedule through March 30th.

•Transylvania County Schools began offering free children’s meals through a combination of pickup and delivery as of 3/18. Families who live near bus stops are welcome to meet buses at the stops to pick up meals.

Those who do not live nearby may fill out the form below or call 885-7393 between 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday - Friday to request a delivery.

SPORTS/FITNESS

•Brevard College:

Brevard College athletic facilities are closed until further notice.

•The Presidents’ Council of the USA South Athletic Conference has unanimously decided to cancel all remaining regular season, including non-conference contests, and tournament competition in all sports for all League members, effective Monday, March 16. Although the Conference acknowledges the disappointment this decision creates for our student-athletes, families and fans, it keeps the safety of those individuals and their communities at the forefront.

•Brevard Health & Racquet Club will remain open but it has cancelled all group fitness classes and childcare services through March 30.

•The N.C. High School Athletic Association has suspended all high school athletics statewide through April 6 and postponed

the basketball state championships indefinitely as concerns over the coronavirus grow.

•Transylvania Special Olympics has cancelled all athlete practices or events thru May 15th.

ORGANIZATIONS/CLUBS

•The Brevard/Transylvania Chamber of Commerce office and Visitor Center will be closed to the public until further notice. This includes ribbon-cutting events, the Elected Officials Breakfast, Business After Hours and Coffee Connections.

•Pisgah Forest Rotary Club weekly meetings - cancelled until at least May 6.

•Augustine Literacy Project’s THE BEE, planned for March 21, has been postponed until May 9.

•VFW Post 4309 in Brevard has cancelled all events for now and will be closed until April 10.

NATIONAL FORESTS/OUTDOORS

•The National Forests in North Carolina have closed all campgrounds as of Monday, March 23, for the health and safety of visitors and staff.

**•DuPont State Recreational Forest has been temporarily closed to the public. N.C. Forest Service officials have temporarily closed DuPont State Recreational Forest and neighboring Holmes Educational State Forest as of 3/24 restricting public access until further notice. All trails, trailheads and forest facilities are closed until further notice. Parking areas, both designated and roadside, are barricaded in the interest of public safety.

**•Gorges State Park is now closed - including trails, the visitor center and campgrounds are closed, and all events and programs are cancelled.

•All Nantahala and Pisgah Forest Plan Revision open houses planned for March have been cancelled at this time.

• The Blue Ridge Parkway Visitor Center at Milepost 384 in Asheville is closed until further notice. Other year-round facilities on the Parkway managed by local partners will remain open at this time.

**•The Blue Ridge Parkway has closed its year-round Visitor Center in Asheville, at Milepost 384 near the U.S. 74A entrance, out of safety concerns for staff, volunteers and visitors. The parkway motor road and all accessible trails will also remain open where not otherwise closed due to weather. Decisions regarding planned seasonal, spring openings, such as park campgrounds and visitor centers, will be made at a later date.

•Silvermont events are postponed/cancelled until further notice. The park is still open (tennis courts, playground and trails).

RESTAURANTS

Editor’s Note: On Tuesday afternoon. Gov. Roy Cooper ordered that all restaurants and bars close for dine-in customers, effective 5 p.m., Tuesday March 17. Takeout and delivery orders will be allowed to continue. Fast food restaurants are moving to drive-thru only. The Transylvania Times contacted other local restaurants and bars about their plans.

•185 King Street – closed indefinitely.

•Big Mike’s – Open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week, for pick-up orders. Orders must be called in or placed order online.

•Blind Mule at Toxaway Station – Curbside and to-go menu Tuesday through Saturday starting March 19. Menu on website. Call to place order. Hours are 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Delivery available (minimum order requirement).

•Blue Ridge Bakery – offering take-out/curbside services; hours changed from Monday to Saturday, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

•Bracken Mountain Bakery – closed until further notice.

•Brevard Brewing – closing on Tuesday; to-go orders still available at taproom.

•Cardinal Drive-In – Normal drive-in service available 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, and 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday.

•Cedar Mountain Canteen –The Canteen will be closed until further notice. Tin Roof Pizza will be serving pizzas from the Whistle Stop parking lot until further notice.

•Crank Coffee – Decision pending.

•Creekside is closed until further notice.

•DFR – music suspended through March; curbside delivery available.

•Dugan’s is offering takeout Monday-Saturday from 11 a.m. -3 p.m. for lunch and from 5 p.m. to 8 pm.m for dinner.

•Ecusta Brewing Company – Will offer curbside pickup for their kegs, crowlers, growlers and cans.

•El Ranchero – Will offer take out.

•Falls Landing – Takeout menu available through March 21; closing on March 21 for four weeks.

•Food Matters – Cafe is closed. Grab-and-go items will still be offered in the prepared food section of the market.

•Forks of the River – open for to-go, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday through Friday.

•Fugi Yama – Open for take out.

•Greystone Inn – Doing takeout and curbside pickup.

**•Grammys 3.0 is open for curb side or delivery service Monday-Saturday 10am-2pm

•Hawg Wild – Drive-thru still available.

•Jet’s Pizza – Open Sunday -Thursday 11:00 -8:00 Friday - Saturday 11:00 - 9:00. Orders must be called in or placed at http://www.Jetspizza.com. They are currently offering Pickup - Delivery - Curbside Pickup.

•Jordan Street Café – Takeout only starting Thursday, with slimmed down menu. Open noon to 8 p.m.

•Kiwi Gelato – closed indefinitely as of Tuesday.

•KTCHN – Unsure of long-term plans.

•Little Ceasars Pizza – normal operating hours, 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, and Friday and Saturday open until 10 p.m.

•Marco’s – curbside available as of Monday.

•Magpie – to-go/curbside options available.

•Maya’s Grill – Closed until further notice.

•Mayberry’s – take-out/curbside available.

•New China – is open but will be closing temporarily as of March 24.

•Oskar Blues – closed indoor taproom Monday; shifting to to-go purchases starting Tuesday; April’s food truck festival postponed.

•Papa John’s – takeout and delivery.

•Pescado’s – still offering take-out; looking to do delivery starting March 18; still offering free lunches for kids in the county via takeout.

•Pisgah Fish Camp - closed

•Pisgah Tavern: Closed until allowed to re-open.

•PizzaHut: Takeout and delivery.

•Plaza Garibaldi: To-go available.

•Quotations: Closed until further notice.

•Rocky’s – offering takeout/

curbside service.

**•Square Root – takeout/curbside. Delivering to downtown Brevard residents/businesses.Open 11 a.m. through dinner., 5 days a week. Closed Sunday and Tuesdays.

•Subway – both locations are open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

•Upcountry Brewing – closed until April 1.

•Vescovo is closed until futher notice.

•Wine Down – Closed until further notice.

•Whistlestop – Still open, offering same hours Tuesday-Saturday 10-6 p.m., Sunday 12-4 p.m .; limiting space to five people at a time; starting this weekend, grocery delivery from Caeser’s Head to Connestee Falls; 5 percent delivery fee; online billing. Will start delivery on Monday.

Wolfbrew Bottleshop – bottleshop closed; offering to-go orders from 12 to 6 p.m.

UTILITIES

•Duke Energy has cancelled its planned power outage that was scheduled for Sunday, March 22. Duke Energy has also suspended discon-nections for nonpayment.
