SAFE Welcomes 33 New Domestic Violence Victims During October

 


SAFE assisted 33 new victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in October.

Meda McQueen, SAFE's Community Outreach Specialist, said 30 new domestic

violence victims and three new sexual assault victims were helped during the month.

Including fourteen 24-hour hotline callers, SAFE was in contact with its clients 605 times during the month. McQueen, herself a domestic violence survivor, said the organization is also helping 54 abusers in its Abuse

Prevention Class. There they learn to control violent actions and recognize triggers to violence.
