Shoppers Find Bargains On 'Black Friday'

In near freezing temperatures, shoppers lined up before 6 a.m. on Friday at the Brevard K-Mart.

"It was the biggest crowd I've seen in the 10 years I've been here," according to Dean West, the store's manager.

At a little after 9:30 a.m., West said Black Friday, the busiest day of the year for retailers, had already far exceeded his expectations.

West said the cooler weather might have had something to do with the bustling crowds of holiday shoppers.

"It gets people in the holiday mood," he said.

"But something else I've noticed is that people seem extra pleasant this year.
