The case of a female north Georgia hiker who went missing New Year's day, and who authorities now believe is dead, may provide local investigators with a possible break in the Irene Bryant murder case and the disappearance of her husband, John.
Georgia authorities said that with near certainty the missing woman, 24-year-old Meredith Emerson, is the victim of a homicide.
