Ground Broken For New Public Complex

A new era in Transylvania County law enforcement began Friday when dignitaries broke ground for the community's new $20.3 million public safety complex at 301 Morris Road in Brevard.

County commissioners past and present, lawmen past and present, other elected officials and invited guests gathered on the site just off Asheville Highway, where in about 18 months the county will open a new jail, sheriff's office, and other facilities.
