James Joseph Isaiah Fisher

James Joseph Isaiah Fisher, born July 19, 1939, in Lake Toxaway, ascended to glory on Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, in Asheville.

Fisher was the son of Warren Isaiah Fisher and Edith Virginia Monteith Fisher; and the grandson of Slick Fisher and Caroline Lee Fisher.

He was a near life-long resident of Lake Toxaway, residing for short periods of time in Virginia, Hendersonville and Houston, Texas. He worked in the construction industry and was noted for his sure footing on high-rise sites.

Fisher attended the Lake Toxaway School and graduated from Rosman High School in 1959. While in high school he was entrusted with the lives of Toxaway children by driving the school bus for two years. On snow days, he would rise early and place chains on the six tires of the school bus and proceed to drive the full-size bus over gravel mountain roads to pick up the area children for on-time delivery to T.C. Henderson School, and on to Rosman High School.

Fisher leaves to mourn his passing his wife of four years, Linda Carol Maxwell-Fisher; two sons, Eddie Gene and his wife, Rhonda, of Lake Toxaway and Joseph Gregory, of Pisgah Forest; daughter, Christy Dawn Camp, of Woodruff, S.C .; step-sons, Ronald Glenn Ingalls, of near Memphis, Tenn. and Scott Allen Maxwell, of Houston, Texas; step-daughter, Jennifer Grace Maxwell Ross and her husband, Chad, of Splendora, Texas; ""adoptive daughter"", Lavondia Owen and her husband, Jimmy, of Lake Toxaway;

six grandchildren, Heather Julie Fisher Tolzman and her husband, Tony, Zachary James Fisher, of Brevard, Lacey Jordan

Fisher, of Lake Toxaway, Devin Harold Camp, Cameron Killian Camp and Austin Gabriel Camp, all of Woodruff, S.C .; seven step-grandchildren, Ronnie Alan Ingalls and his wife, Krystal, of near Memphis, Tenn., Chad Eric Ross, Jr., Justin Tyler Ross, Colin Everett Ross, all of Splendora, Texas, Chantry Johnson, of Charlotte, Natasha Johnson, of Brevard, and Jessica and Jarred Owen, of Lake Toxaway; two step-adoptive grandchildren, John King and his fi-ancé, Laura, of Hendersonville and Brian James Sinyard and his wife, Angie, of Hendersonville; three step-great-grandchildren, Brandon Lee Ingalls, of near Memphis, Tenn., Patrick Lee King, of Hendersonville and Hadden John-son, of Brevard; two brothers, Howard Ray Fisher and his wife, Mable, of Lake Toxaway and Warren Eugene ""Dick"" Fisher, of Lake Toxaway; two sisters, Ruby Leona Pruitt and her husband, Robert, of Hendersonville and Dorothy Anita ""Dot"" Rogers and her husband, Richard Woodfin ""Wolfe"", of Brevard; sister-in-law, Frances Fisher, of Castle Rock, Wash .; brother-in-law, Alan Bryson, of Glenville. Also

surviving are many nieces and nephews; and grandnieces and grandnephews.

Family members who have predeceased Fisher are his parents, Warren and Edith Fisher, two sisters, Carolen Lucilla Owen and her husband, Ford and Willie Virginia Bryson; and brother, Benjamin Luther Fisher.

He also leaves a host of friends and extended family.

Pallbearers are Zachary Fisher, Luke Fisher, Jeff Rogers, Chantry Johnson, William Searcy, Clinton Owen, John Valenti and John Eubanks.

Honorary Pallbearers are Donny Fisher, Lee Fisher, Glenn Fisher, Keith Fisher, Bramley Fisher, Brian Sinyard and John King.

Funeral arrangements are under the auspices of Moore Funeral Home of Brevard.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. (tonight) Monday, Jan. 14, 2008 at the funeral home, 100 N. Country Club Drive, Brevard and 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008 at North Toxaway Baptist Church in Lake Toxaway, and will be conducted by the Rev. Tommy Mullis, pastor of North Toxaway Baptist Church and the Rev. Harold Sit-ton, a long-time friend and former pastor.

Burial will follow at Lake Toxaway Baptist Church (Lakeside) (formerly known as the Fisher Graveyard) in Lake Toxaway.
