LIbrary's Animation Class Wins State Award


The public library may seem an unlikely place for a roomful of aspiring animators, but that's exactly who could be found at the Transylvania County Library's Computer Animation classes for teens in 2007. The program was recognized as an "Outstanding Young Adult Program 2007" by the NC Public Library Directors Association.

This annual award recognizes successful programs in public libraries and gives other librarians ideas for programming. More and more libraries across the country are teaming up teens and technology with surprising results.
