Irish Poet To Teach Workshop

Visiting poet Adrian Rice will teach a class for beginning and experienced writers on Saturday, Feb. 2, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Information on shaping and polishing one's poems will be given, and up to three poems may be brought to the class for discussion.

Rice will also give information about getting published and how to participate in local poetry readings. The class is being held at The Writers' Workshop, 387 Beaucatcher Road, in Asheville.

Rice was born in Belfast in 1958, and earned his Master of Arts in Anglo-Irish literature at the University of Ulster. His first sequence of poems appea...
