A lot Of Bills In The Family Treasury

 


My second grandson is named William, after my daughter-in-law's relatives. Young William (or Mr. Bill, as I call him — out of his mother's earshot) joins an illustrious collection of Bills from my side of the family also. I had both a paternal and maternal "Uncle Bill."

My Dad's older brother Bill lost a leg hopping a freight train when he was about 16 years old. His mother (my Grandma) was widowed then, with three other children. Missing leg or not, Bill had to help support a family, and he eventually went to work for Ingersoll-Rand, where he stayed for over 40 years. I don't believe...
