Plenty Going On At Parks And Forest Areas
It may be winter, but that doesn't mean there's nothing going on in the Pisgah National Forest, Gorges State Park or DuPont State Forest.
Work is nearly complete with renovations at the Coontree picnic area, which have been needed ever since the hurricane damage of 2004, according to Randy Burgess, district ranger for the Pisgah Ranger District,
"That work has focused on new restrooms and a new hardened pathway to the handicap assessable fishing pier," he said.
